Tyler Radford

from the perspective of a hands-on leader and operator
Tyler is a pragmatic optimist who has led large-scale change and transformation initiatives across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors over the past 20 years. He recently led Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (aka HOT), a tech nonprofit with a team of 100 staff in 40 countries. In 2020, HOT was selected as a TED Audacious Project, Skoll Foundation grantee, and Million Lives Collective member in recognition of the organization’s work: mobilizing a movement of 1 million people putting the least represented places on the world’s open digital map.At HOT, Tyler led transformation initiatives aimed to promote equity in the world while increasing equity among HOT staff. These included a "living strategy", a global remote hire the best talent anywhere policy, and a transparent salary framework that resulted in attracting staff from 40 countries and eliminating disparities in pay. Tyler also led the organization through a transition to a four day work week.
